Wilcox AZ, is, as you'll hear, is a town that started small and stayed small. It's also a town that you've most likely never heard of. Country Twang star Rex Allen is from there, but you've probably never heard of him either. What we want you to really know about is KHIL, the local 5000 watt radio station that has served the slow moving dusty old town since 1961. Sitting on your back porch, cig in hand, whisky on ice, radio tuned to KHIL, and you'd swear it was 1968 all over again.....and sometimes that's a good thing. Thanks to a recent short documentary by The Atlantic, we get a quick glimpse into the lives that control the tunes being sent out by those 5000 watts, and how those lives have been shaped by those same lonesome tunes.
