This guy...this guy sharing his soul with you...you know him as the Grammy winning (for "Run Around") front man for Blues Traveler, the rock and roll/grunge/jam band of the early and mid nineties....John Popper. He gives it all with his trademark singing style and world class harmonica playing (playing is too soft of a word, he straight gets after it)
Well he and his band are still touring and filling shows over 20 years since the band got together in New Jersey garage. Blues Traveler recently released some new material in 2015 to decent reviews, but here we want to dig deep and remember the classics.
Early on, Blues Traveler appeared on the TV show "Roseanne" , and well, they rocked. Even John Goodman gets in on the act:
The real treat comes at the end of the show (after the last commercial break) and we are treated to some early, raw, unfiltered Rock and Roll:
Thanks to Roseanne, Goodman, and all the people involved with making this happen. Good stuff.
The former Rage Against the Machine front man has been a bit busy, and this is helping heal any lingering wounds since the breakup of RATM in the early 2000s. He ( along with various producers such as DJ Shadow, Questlove, Trent Reznor, and EL-P) have been hinting at a solo album for quite some time. According to the aforementioned EL-P, 2017 may be the year. In anticipation of this, a single was dropped, and well, it jams hard enough to take you back to the Rage Against the Machine of the mid 90s
Even though there may not be an album out yet, Zack has been staying plenty busy, recording songs and touring with the super group (EL-P and Killer Mike) Run the Jewels 3. Here is a taste of that:
Zack has been gathering material since the 2000s, so if there is an album, it should be all we have dreamed of. If he teams up with the best names in the business, it very well may prove to be mind blowing. Keep your ear to the ground for news on this. 2017 may be a great year for music fans.
Could tell you, but you know how the saying goes
